Day 1: DIRECT from Jersey via Guernsey (same plane connection) to Zurich and onto Colmar.
Jersey clients will be met in departures at Jersey Airport by their Bontour Tour Manager who will escort the tour throughout. (Departure to Zurich via Guernsey 09:50 – 13:55. You will remain on the plane in Guernsey for approx. 20 minutes).
Guernsey clients will board the flight direct at Guernsey Airport at 10:35 joining the rest of the group on-board for arrival into Zurich at 13:55 with Blue Islands.
From Zurich we will be collected by coach to begin our journey through some of Europe’s most beautiful scenery. A comfortable drive of around 2 hours will see us across the border into France and up to charming Colmar.
We will check into the superbly located 4* Mercure Centre Unterlinden Hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner together at the hotel.
Day 2: Discover the magic of Colmar!
After a hearty breakfast, get ready to explore the best of what this fairy-tale destination has to offer. From the colourful half-timbered houses to the winding canals of the picturesque "Little Venice" quarter.
We will start with a guided tour through the historic old town, where you'll discover iconic sights like the Church of the Dominicans, the charming tanners' district, and the inspiring Bartoldi Museum.
Next, take to the waters with a relaxing boat trip along the canals—it's the perfect way to take in the town’s beauty from a new perspective. Afterward, enjoy some free time to explore on your own and immerse yourself in the local charm.
Late afternoon, we’ll visit the fascinating Unterlinden Museum, which dates back to 1252! Marvel at the stunning collection of medieval sculptures and Renaissance art, along with masterpieces by famous artists like Monet, Picasso, and Dubuffet.
This evening, we will indulge in a delicious group dinner at the historic Restaurant Le Meistermann, a local gem founded in 1880.
Day 3: Explore the heart of Alsace: Ribeauvillé & Riquewihr
After breakfast we will depart for a short journey through scenic plains, majestic mountains, and lush vineyards, the Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr region of Alsace offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and rich heritage
We will start with a short walking city tour through the quaint streets of Ribeauvillé, followed by a fun, guided ride on a small train through the vineyards, exploring both Ribeauvillé and Hunawihr.
Next, we’ll visit the renowned Maison Jean Huttard, where you’ll take a guided tour through the vineyard and cellars, finishing with a delightful tasting of five exquisite wines!
We then have some time at leisure in the medieval town of Riquewihr, one of France’s "Most Beautiful Villages." With its medieval ramparts, stunning half-timbered houses dating back to the 15th century, and picture-perfect streets, Riquewihr truly feels like stepping into another era.
The evening is free for you to relax and enjoy dinner at your leisure in Colmar, making it the perfect end to your day.
Day 4: Step Back in Time: Sélestat & Orschwiller
We begin this day by saying goodbye to charming Colmar, as we check-out of our hotel, before starting our journey to Sélestat, nestled in the heart of the Alsace. It is known as “Ville d’Art et d’Histoire” a town of rich history and architectural beauty. With its charming, protected historic centre, Sélestat offers a fascinating journey from the Middle Ages to modern day.
Our day will begin with a guided visit to the Humanist Library, home to incredible treasures of knowledge and history. Then, it’s off to the Bread House, where we’ll get hands-on with a baking session! You’ll learn to make famous Alsatian pastries and treats, and then we will enjoy a delightful lunch at the Bread House.
This afternoon we will be heading to the majestic Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg in Orschwiller. This stunning medieval castle, perched high above the Alsace region, offers incredible views and a step back in time as you explore its rich history with a guided tour.
Afterward, we’ll head to Strasbourg to check into our next hotel the 4* Boma ideally situated to explore this vibrant city. The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure or relax after an enriching day!
Day 5: Discover Strasbourg: A Blend of History & Charm
After a delicious breakfast we will begin with a delightful walking tour of Strasbourg, led by a local guide who will bring the city’s rich history to life. Explore the awe-inspiring Strasbourg Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, and wander through the picturesque La Petite France quarter, with its romantic canals and charming, timber-framed houses.
Next, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at Restaurant La Maison Kammerzell, an iconic spot famous for serving the best Sauerkraut in the city. It’s the perfect place to experience authentic Alsatian flavours!
In the afternoon, relax and take in the sights of Strasbourg from the water with a scenic Batorama sightseeing cruise. This 1 hour and 15-minute journey offers a unique perspective of the city, from its stunning architecture to its serene canals.
Your evening is free to explore at your own pace—whether you want to stroll through the charming streets of Strasbourg, enjoy a drink by the river, or simply relax after a day full of exploration.
Day 6: Explore Obernai & Mont Odile Sanctuary
After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we depart towards the charming town of Obernai. Immerse yourself in the local history and culture as we stroll through this picturesque town. We have a guided tour of the town and will visit the stunning Eglise St Pierre et Paul—a beautiful example of Alsatian architecture.
Next, we’ll head to Mount Odile Sanctuary for a memorable lunch at the restaurant, located at an impressive altitude of 753 meters. This landmark is not only a place of natural beauty, but it’s also deeply rooted in Alsatian heritage. Perched above the Alsace plain, the Sanctuaire du Mont Sainte-Odile offers breathtaking views and a peaceful retreat for pilgrims and visitors alike.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue exploring the sanctuary with guided visit, including the Basilica and Saint Odile’s grave, both of which hold deep spiritual significance. The serene surroundings and rich history make this a truly special place to visit.
Afterward, you’ll have the evening free to enjoy Strasbourg at your leisure, whether you want to take a leisurely walk, explore the city’s quaint streets, or relax with a delicious dinner.
Day 7: Discover Schaffhausen & Zurich
On our last full day, we will check-out from our hotel in Strasbourg after breakfast and enjoy a scenic drive back over the border to Switzerland to the charming medieval town of Schaffhausen.
On arrival we will, enjoy a guided tour of the town, where you'll explore its historic streets and beautiful architecture. The highlight of your visit will be the stunning Rheinfall, Europe’s largest waterfall, which promises to take your breath away with its sheer power and beauty.
You’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch at your own pace.
We then make our way to Zurich for our last overnight stay. On arrival, we will check-in to the 4* Mercure City hotel and this evening partake in a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 8: Return to Jersey (onwards to Guernsey)
This morning, we wave a fond farewell to Zurich, along with our travel companions, by now surely new friends.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and some time at leisure before being transferred back to the airport by coach. Your direct flight for Jersey departs Zurich Airport at 14:35 arriving at 15:55 with Blue Islands. The connecting Blue Islands flight to Guernsey will be confirmed closer to the time.
